Papertunity Recycled Art Workshop

midnight — 1pm - Tuesday, 28 October 2025

Venue: Dugdale Arts Centre
Dugdale Arts Centre, 39 London Road,, Londontown, EN2 6DS, UK,

Celebrate Black History Month with Papertunity at DAC in a unique workshop that blends creativity, learning and sustainability. Using recycled paper and mixed media, participants will explore African heritage and the remarkable contributions of Black figures throughout history. This interactive session begins with a fun knowledge activity where participants will guess the country of different African flags and name influential Black figures, discovering what they are recognised for across music, science, sports, politics and the arts. From there, the workshop moves into hands-on creativity: each participant will decorate Africa-shaped templates and create a collaborative collage of recognised Black figures, using sustainable materials to bring stories of resilience, achievement and culture to life. The workshop encourages participants of ages 5+ to learn, share and reflect while making art that celebrates identity and community. Guided by Papertunity facilitators, you’ll gain both an appreciation for Black history and the joy of transforming recycled paper into meaningful artwork. Come ready to learn, create and celebrate - while highlighting the importance of sustainability and the rich legacy of Black history. Take home your very own masterpiece at the end of the session and leave inspired to continue creating sustainably at home. No prior experience is needed - just bring your imagination! Spaces are limited - book now to secure your spot and enjoy a joyful journey into the world of recycled art with Papertunity.
